In our modern lives, and especially at this time, it is very easy to become disconnected from our physical and energetic bodies.
We have so many distractions! Our environment is full of (useful, helpful) tools that often act as barriers to the Natural world, and to our natural, wild selves - computers, social media, TVs, books, podcasts, cars etc. etc. Yet we often 'feel better' when we come away from these stimulations and spend some time in our body. This doesn't have to be a retreat in Nature (although these are wonderful) we can reconnect with our body and our natural self in a heartbeat, in a single breath.
Yoga is the perfect tool for this; it is a complete system designed to ultimately connect us to the 'Atman' - the God within. Specifically the practice of Hatha Yoga (the Yoga of Asana or body movement) connects us to our own body, opening energy channels and strengthening this incredible vessel we call home. Breath practices (Pranayama) help connect us into our breath and our body, relaxing the nervous system and bringing about deep changes in our physical and emotional state very quickly. In this talk Sophie will take you through a few basic yoga asana and breathwork practices to call on when life gets challenging. Sophie's yoga classes help people to reconnect to themselves, and to the earth, sparking joy, vitality and creativity whilst nourishing a deep sense of belonging.
